We would like to share with you the details of a very special evening that was hosted by Creative Kids Learning Centers on Saturday, November 19th 2011.
We have an amazing family that is a part of our Rosemary Preschool and they have a terminally ill child. We wanted to host a special ladies only shopping/fundraising event where all proceeds raised would go directly to Canuck Place in honour of The Ross family.
At first we had no idea if we would have enough ladies attend to raise any worthy amount of money. We just went in blind with alot of heart and determination. Needless to say, all of the hard work and heart paid off and we raised just over $11,000.00 that night! Wow, an epic event we never expected.
Now, we didn't do all of this on our own. We had support from The Peach Arch news showcasing our event on the cover of the newspaper and then reporting about the event the following week (Please see attached links). We also had an anonymous donor contribute $2500.00 and The King of Floors donated $1000.00. Other contributors were Tap Restaurant, Brent Short Realty, 4 Cats Art Studio and many, many others. There were amazing silent auction items and great raffle items as well.
A week after the event Sandra Christian and Debbie Back went to visit the Ross family and give them some of the funds raised that night to help purchase special needs equipment for Gabrielle. Then we were off to Canuck Place for a tour and to give the rest of the funds to them. Touring this amazing facility was something neither of us will ever forget. Pictures are posted on our Facebook page and are incredible.
Thank you to everyone who contributed towards this night, Canuck Place and The Ross Family.
